Labor Day at the Garden of the Gods

Photobucket
It's really crazy that Mike and I were both raised in Colorado had never been here before, especially since it is only an hour away. The place is really quite breath taking.

 Total daddy's girl.

Oh and she has had enough with her bows. Every time I put them on her she quickly pulls them off. Hence the fuzz head.

But mommy loves that fuzz head to pieces!

Ashlyn at 8 months

8 MONTHS!?!  What? We seriously cannot believe how incredibly fast she is growing. When she was a newborn people would always say, "Oh just enjoy these days because before you know it they are all grown up." I would nod my head and say, "yeah I definitely will."   Inside my head I was thinking to myself that it seemed like she was going to be a baby forever. But now I am starting to see that they were right! She changes and grows more everyday! Time sure does fly when you are a mom. It took me like two months to finally get this little photo shoot together. I kept telling myself "next week when I have time I will take pictures of Ashlyn." Then before I knew it two months had come and gone. With the help of Mike's mom we were able to get  Ashlyn to hold still for a few minutes and do a little photo session.

Here is what Ashlyn is up to....

-She is rolling all around the house (farewell to the days when I could lay her on the bed and leave the room.)
-She can scoot herself backwards which usually leads to her being stuck underneath furniture.
-Loves fruit. Gags when she eats her veggies.  I have to alternate bites of fruit and veggies.  We will see how long my trickery lasts.
-She rocks back and forth when we hold her, often repeatedly slamming her head into our chests. (I did this when I was a baby too. Weird, I know.)
-When she sucks on her paci she makes a "goi, goi, goi" sound.  It is the cutest noise there is.  We found out from Mike's parents that Mike did the same thing with his paci.  His siblings called his paci the "goi goi."
-She is starting to say mamama and dadada.  It's a proud moment as a parent.
-She is a daddy's girl.  She gets so excited when her daddy comes home from work and kicks and screams if he doesn't hold her right away.
-She loves her bed and loves her sleep.  Usually I just put her to bed around 9-9:30pm and she doesn't wake up for 12 hours.  It is so nice because I can wake up before her and go to bed after her.  We are crossing our fingers she keeps it up!
-No teeth yet. I can kind of see her bottom teeth working their way up, but they are definitely taking their sweet time.
-She is such a good baby. I think Heavenly Father made her our first baby on purpose so we would have more children.  If she was a terror I think we would seriously consider just have one, but if my babies are all as chill as her we will probably have a soccer team. Just kidding!  Bottom line, becoming parents has been the biggest blessing of our lives and we are so lucky to have such a sweet little angel in our family.
