"WoW! Is that your house," you might be thinking. I wish! It is, however, evidence of my NEW JOB! I am so excited about it that I have to share it with you. I get to photograph sweet houses all around the Denver area for a company called, DenverRentaHome.com.

I got the job because Mike leases properties through this company along with selling homes with Remax Professionals. The owners of D.R.H. liked the pictures I took of the houses Mike had listed and asked if I wanted to picture all of their properties. It's the perfect job for me now that I am a stay-at-home mom. I can picture the homes according to my own schedule, Ashlyn can come with me, and I get to tour million dollar homes.

Here are some of the pictures I have taken. Kitchens are by far my favorite rooms to photograph.

Mike and I decided we needed some motivation to work out, so at the break of dawn on Memorial Day we will be running the Bolder Boulder. It's a 10k.

I have done it twice before, both times in high school, so I know I can do it again. The only thing is that I haven't run for about four years. I used to run all the time when I was in high school and college, but I stopped when I hurt my knee playing intramural soccer at BYUI four years ago. Needless to say I have a lot of catching up to do. I have a few more lbs. of pregnancy weight I want to lose so this will help give me a boost. Since Mike's legs are about twice as long as mine, I don't think we will be running the race together but it will be fun training together. Anyway, I just wanted to post this so we can hold ourselves accountable to you. No turning back now!

Ashlyn's Blessing

Last Sunday, Mike gave Ashlyn a beautiful blessing at our church. It was a wonderful day filled with family, friends, and delicious food. Thanks to the help from my mom and Catherine, we had a Cafe Rio style lunch. (I got the idea from my good friend Shelli, who had the same food at her twins' blessings.) Thanks for all of you who came to support us on this special day!

Our Trip to Southern California

I can't call it a vacation because to me that word means "relaxing from your everyday life." This trip we were constantly going, going, going...with a 2 month old. However, we had a blast.

Photobucket

The first day we got there we met up with Lindsey and her baby, Lexi in Riverside. We had fun staying with them and palling around with our baby girls. The last time we saw them Linds was 6 months pregnant and I wasn't pregnant yet. So it was fun to finally see each other's babies and see how life had changed for all of us. We really enjoyed staying with the Marlors.

The next three days we were in Newport Beach for Matt and Brooke's wedding. It was a very low key wedding with a small wedding party. I loved it. Matt and Brooke are such a beautiful couple and we are so excited to have a new sister-in-law. I wasn't able to take pictures of them coming out of the temple because Ashlyn conveniently had a blowout at the same time.

Us with Jared and Sjanna

The last part of our trip was spent with our good friends, Jack and Melissa Sanofsky. We became friends two years ago when they lived directly above our apartment in Rexburg. It was so good to see them again and we had so much fun hanging out with them. Jack was an excellent tour guide. He took us to Tito's Tacos, Rodeo Drive, showed us sweet houses in the Hollywood Hills, showed us the Bachelor House, and Malibu.

Do you ever watch "Million Dollar Listing" on Bravo? This is Madison's office in Malibu.

The Bachelor House. We drove by the night before and there were tons of outside lights on for filming. I wonder if they were filming "Bachelor Pad" or next season's "Bachelorette." I am ashamed to say this was one of the highlights of the trip. Ha! I know it's totally ridiculous to admit, but isn't fun to see in person the things you see on tv?!?

Mike and I are in love with So Cal. If it wasn't so darn expensive we would move there in a heartbeat. Guess will just have to visit frequently!

Our Little Angel Baby

Photobucket

We just got back from our trip to L.A. last night and I couldn't wait to get home and post this picture of Ashlyn. My good friend, Lindsey Marlor, takes amazing pictures and I LOVE her work. To see more of her work go to www.lindseymarlorphotography.blogspot.com
Here are the stats for Ashlyn's 2 month check up on 3/9/11:
Height: 22 1/2 inches 53%
Weight: 9 lbs. 5.2 oz 14%
She is a happy and healthy baby and is now smiling and cooing up a storm. We just can't get enough of our little girlie. In her first 2 1/5 months of life she has been in four states: CO, UT, ID, CA. She also had her first airplane ride last week. She did well on the plane but let's just say Mike and I are going to take a long break from traveling with her. It's a lot of work! I will post pictures of our CA trip in my next post.

Time sure flies when you have a baby! I can't believe it has been a month since my last post. Well....actually yes I can because I have never been too on top of my blogging. At least this time I have legitimate excuses. My mom had major surgery, we went to Utah and Idaho to visit family and friends, I had a second baby shower, and Ashlyn and I went up to the mountains to spend time with my parents. Despite having my camera in my diaper bag at all times, I completely failed to document the majority of these events. Ugh! I disappoint myself. Here are some pictures of our happenings for the month of February.

Meeting soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Matthew McCabe!
They are getting married March 18th at the Newport Temple. We are going to Orange County next week for their wedding and can't wait to get out of this cold Colorado weather!

Meeting Aunt Cori and Uncle Brady

There are a few other good friends that Ashlyn met that aren't included: Aunt Lauren and Uncle Jason, Jacob, Pierina, Chelsea, and Michelle Gibson. The pictures of them and Ashlyn are on their cameras so I will have to put them in my next post.
So I am finally getting her pictures professionally done next week when we go to CA. My good friend, Lindsey Marlor, takes amazing pictures and offered to take pics of Ashlyn. In the meantime you will just have to enjoy my amateur photos.

I can't believe she is already one month old! Crazy how fast time flies once the baby gets here and how incredibly slow time goes when your pregnant. We absolutely LOVE having her apart of our family. It's fun to watch her grow and change each day. It makes me a little sad that she is growing out of her newborn clothes, but a the same time I get excited when I notice new things she does. We love being parents and we love our little Ashlyn Jane!
